According to The Northern States Conservation Center there is one single Relative Humidity (RH) range that is ideal for all museum objects. For mixed collections they recommend to keep a non-fluctuating RH level between 25% and 65%.

Rapid fluctuations can cause the most damage, making them more dangerous than slower seasonal fluctuations. Turning systems off at night or weekends can have the same negative impact on collections as if there was no climate-control. Why can't I use a store bought dehumidifier?
